to help keep sailors sane and happy at sea, they were traditionally given a daily ration of alcohol. ideally this was beer but since beer does not keep well before the invention of refrigeration, rum was often used instead on long voyages. to keep sailors from getting too fucked up the rum was cut with water at a ratio of 3:1 (or worse!) and some citrus and sugar added for flavor. this results in a fairly pleasant and refreshing, mildly alcoholic cocktail.
recork and shake until dissolved, comes out to about 400mg per ounce which is a lot so i cut 1/2oz with water into grog
progesterone, like other steroid hormones, is practically insoluble in water; typical 80 proof rum will NOT work, you can probably only go as low as 138 proof/69% but don't waste good rum on this as it becomes very bitter. everclear works fine of course but tastes far worse
combine all ingredients, observe "louche" effect, consume quickly
comes out to about 200mg of oral progesterone which is a pretty typical dose but even ignoring the alcohol this hits quite quickly and differently from the usual gelcaps; enjoy the trip sister
